CAI was selected in 2012 by the Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Population Affairs Office of Family Planning (OPA) to develop and manage the National Training Center for Coordination and Strategic Initiatives (NTC-CSI) in collaboration with Altarum Institute. The NTC-CSI works closely with OPA to coordinate national meetings, conferences, training resources, and development of national guidance. The NTC-CSI also works with the four other OPA-funded National Training Centers to develop training materials and resources for use nationally by family planning providers.
The goals of the NTC-CSI are to:
GOAL#1: Assist OPA with the development, implementation and monitoring of a coordinated performance management plan amongst the National Training Centers.
GOAL#2: Coordinate and support the NTCs to effectively meet the training needs of the Title X network, address gaps in family planning service delivery, and build upon promising practices and lessons learned in the field.
GOAL#3: In partnership with OPA, develop national strategies to address emerging and high priority issues and populations to improve reproductive health outcomes for men, women, and adolescents.
