As the long-time Region II Title X Family Planning Center (New York, New Jersey, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands), CAI provided measurable, outcomes-focused training and technical assistance to all levels of staff in Title X family planning agencies throughout the region. Created in 1970, the Title X program has been the only federal program solely dedicated to family planning and reproductive health with a mandate to provide a broad range of acceptable and effective family planning methods and services.
Our innovative and evidence-based training programs built the capacity of more than 80 family planning agencies (who operated multiple clinic sites) to provide clinic services to over 500,000 users annually on issues related to:
contraceptive methods counseling
patient education and counseling
sexual and reproductive health, clinical exams
STI and HIV screenings and treatment
pregnancy diagnosis and counseling
Our trainings focused on concepts related to program management, fiscal sustainability, clinical services, and outreach and education. Trainings were tailored to the needs of the local clinic sites using multiple modalities for training delivery including on-site/face to face trainings and distance learning.
