CAI Walks the Walk for Avon BHOP and Unveils New Project Website

Called the Cica-Tatas, the five member CAI team once again completed the two-day Avon Breast Cancer Crusade Walk held in New York City on October 20-21, 2012. The team, which raised funds and awareness to benefit the Avon Foundation for Women, walked with over 4000 other participants and was supported by more than 40 CAI staff who volunteered at rest stops and cheering stations throughout the event. $5 million dollars of the funds raised during the 39 mile NYC walk will go to CAI's Avon BHOP program which funds 100 Avon BHOP grantees across the U.S. in 2013. These BHOP grantees are community-based organizations that will educate and recruit more than 100,000 women into breast cancer screening and treatment.

On another front, the CAI Avon BHOP team completed a redesign of the Avon BHOP website. The new site was debuted to the 2012 Avon BHOP grantees during a live interactive webinar in August. The site includes a number of innovative new features including an interactive map, which graphically pinpoints the location of Avon grantees across the nation; new video features; a Resource Library for grantees; and, an online Market Place where grantees and the public can feature and promote products that highlight breast cancer awareness, outreach and education.
