CAI's peer-led activities and services include dozens of training and technical assistance projects to assist providers in training, integrating, supervising and supporting peers in capacity-building service delivery. CAI uses a resilience-based approach, building on peers' personal strengths and experiences. These trainings prepare organizations to use peers to connect to the community, enhancing outreach, consumer access, service utilization, and client navigation and support.
CAI's peer-related models and programs include:
- role models/peer support (HRSA Consumer-Provider Partnership for Care)
- peer health counselors (CDC Rep 11: Focus on the Future)
- peer support programs, outreach, and peer workers in clinical teams (State of GA: Integration of Peers in Healthcare Teams)
