Rapid ART—the administration of antiretroviral therapy (ART) as soon as possible after the diagnosis of HIV infection—is the standard of care for people with new diagnoses of HIV.
This CAI guide outlines what HIV care providers need to do to strengthen or develop a rapid ART program. With a focus on how to strengthen or establish services, the guide provides concrete information about steps to take, protocols to modify and use, and other tasks that are necessary to put a program in place.
The information contained in the guide comes directly from sites that have planned and implemented Rapid ART programs and other select resources.
