WIC Trainer

CAI (Cicatelli Associates Inc.) is seeking a highly motivated, detail oriented and organized professional for the full-time position of WIC (Women, Infants & Children) Trainer. The WIC Trainer provides classroom and web-based trainings on behalf of the NYS WIC Training Center to NYS WIC local agency staff. Training topics will include, but not be limited to: Income Eligibility, Certification, Benefits Distribution, Breastfeeding and Breast Pump Assessment, Breastfeeding Skill Building, Participant-Centered Nutrition Assessment, High Risk Care, and Nutrition Education and Counseling. This position is based and located in CAI’s NYC office.

MAJOR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead classroom trainings
  • Participate in the curricula/training development design team and incorporate revisions as needed
  • Develop eLearning content for online module trainings
  • Provide quality assurance in the editing, review, and delivery of all WIC training modalities
  • Participate in team meetings and program planning
  • Actively support the mission of CAI and its corporate values
  • Other duties as necessary/assigned

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS, MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & CREDENTIALS:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition
  • Minimum three years’ experience in WIC local agency
  • At least three years’ experience using WICSIS
  • Well versed in provisions of WIC services and NYS WIC Program
  • Experience training in a classroom setting
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Strong writing skills including the ability to write technical nutrition materials
  • Travel required at least 50% of time
  • Familiar with the administration of WIC agencies (including staff development), the application of WIC standards of practice, and the delivery of WIC services to participants

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & CREDENTIALS:

  • Master’s Degree
  • Registered Dietitian
  • Certified Lactation Consultant
  • International Board Certified Lactation
