Assistant, Research and Evaluation

CAI is seeking a highly motivated professional for the FULL-TIME position of Assistant, Research and Evaluation. The Research and Evaluation Assistant will provide support and assistance for research and evaluation related activities across CAI’s projects. The successful candidate will support the Research and Evaluation team, as well as individual Project Directors with the planning and implementation of evaluation and research activities. This is a NYC-based position.

MAJOR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists with coordinating and implementing evaluation activities for CAI’s projects related to adolescent health, HIV/AIDS, maternal and child health, performance management, and health systems change.

  • Conducts routine scientific literature reviews on a range of topics and summarizes findings

  • Provides projects with assistance developing and implementing evaluation approaches (e.g., needs assessments, surveys, logic models and evaluation reports)

  • Regularly cleans data, conducts descriptive data analysis, and maintains project databases

  • Assists in writing reports, developing PowerPoint presentations, and producing data summaries/dashboards

  • Perform various administrative duties including data entry, schedule coordination, and file management

  • Perform other duties as necessary/assigned

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS, QUALIFICATIONS, CREDENTIALS and OTHER PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Undergraduate degree in health/social sciences, public health, or comparable field preferred

  • 1 to 2 full years of pertinent full-time work preferred

  • Experience working in evaluation or research in a social sciences setting

  • Familiarity with qualitative and quantitative data analysis software and data collection/management programs (e.g., Excel, Atlas ti, STATA, SPSS, REDCap etc.)

  • Strong writing and communication skills

  • Creative mindset and ability to think outside boundaries

  • Strong attention to detail and adept at managing multiple projects and priorities.
